2016 Korean Drama Awards

Annually, the three known channels of South Korea(SBS, KBS, MBC) is conducting a year-end awards night to give appreciation to top performing actors and shows of the year.

This year, let's see which among the dramas we watched topped the list.

2016 KBS Drama Awards

As expected "Descendants of the Sun" and "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" were the biggest winners.

Grand award - Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo 

Female Excellence Award for Mini-series - Kim Ji-won

Best Couple - Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, Jin Goo and Kim Ji-won  

Best New Actress Award - Kim Ji-won

Best Scriptwriter Award - Kim Eun-sook and Kim Won-suk

Best Asia Couple Award - Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo

Male Top Excellence Award - Park Bo-Gum
Female Excellence Award for Mid-length Drama - Kim Yoo-jung
Best Couple - Kim Yoo-jung and Park Bo-gum
Best New Actor Award -  Jinyoung
Netizen Award - Park Bo-gum
Best Supporting Actor Award - Lee Joon-hyuk
Best Young Actor Award - Jung Yoon-suk and Heo Jung-eun
Other winners came from popular dramas like: On the way to the Airport, Laurel Tree Tailors and Five Children
2016 SBS Drama Awards
"Romantic Doctor kim" was the BIG WINNER of the night with the total of seven awards. Other dramas that were highlighted included:  Doctors, Legend of the Blue Sea, Jealousy Incarnate, Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

"W" took home a total of seven awards making it as MBC's BIG WINNER of the night.
